VETERINARY CLINIC AND SHELTER
Working diligently for the health and safety of our animal friends, Altındağ Municipality provides a free animal ambulance, an animal shelter, and all the facilities it offers to animals.
Altındağ Municipality shows great care in collecting stray or weakened animals, sterilizing them, vaccinating them, providing necessary medical care, marking them, returning them to their environment, and registering those that are adopted.
In this context, animals that come to the temporary shelter are first registered in the "Stray Animal Registration Book" and placed under observation. Then, the animals receive the necessary treatment, are sterilized, vaccinated, and marked. While some animals are returned to their environment, others wait to be adopted at the Altındağ Municipality shelter. Cooperation is established with local animal protection officers and volunteer organizations in the adoption process.
Altındağ Municipality Temporary Shelter Embraces Animals
The Altındağ Municipality temporary shelter, built with natural conditions in mind, provides services with soil, stones, plants, trees, and walking areas. One of the features of the temporary shelter is its sloping floors and drainage system... This ensures that the ground remains constantly dry, preventing the animals from getting cold, especially in winter. The shelter, run by Altındağ Municipality, has separate sections for quarantine, mothers with puppies, animals collected from the streets, and animals suffering from scabies. Thanks to these sections, the animals can live in a healthier environment.
A Warm Home for Little Friends: The Animal Shelter
Altındağ Municipality's animal shelters welcome stray dogs, sick and elderly animals that their owners cannot care for. Dogs arriving at the shelter are registered in a computer system, then given medication against internal and external parasites and placed under observation. During this process, sick dogs are also treated. At the end of this period, the dogs are neutered. Dogs are vaccinated against rabies and numbered ear tags are attached.
The shelter, which also keeps dogs with environmental adaptation problems under control, continues its activities as a warm home and healthy living center where dogs that cannot be adopted for a long time are cared for, fed, and treated.
Dogs brought and abandoned by their owners are kept at the shelter until a family is found to care for them. All animals are cared for and fed with dry food.
