The Ulucanlar Prison Museum, restored by Altındağ Municipality and brought back to life in Ankara, now functions as a cultural and arts center in its semi-open section. The Art Street, located within this semi-open area where numerous cultural and artistic events are held, hosts artists working in various art disciplines.

The Ulucanlar Semi-Open Prison Culture and Arts Center has gone far beyond simply being a venue for exhibiting artworks; it has also become an art education institution. To enable children and young people to become more familiar with traditional and modern visual arts, and to learn them if they wish, 30 workshops within the center have been allocated to various artists.

In the Art Street, where artists practice, exhibit, and sell their artwork, many students also receive instruction. Artists practicing various art forms such as felt making, wood carving, oil painting, calligraphy, illumination, ceramics, embroidery, stained glass, marbling, and mosaic also train students in these fields.
