Ankara's Gateway to Literature
The Poets and Writers House, which will bring a completely new breath to Ankara's art and literature world, opened in October 2017. Built by Altındağ Municipality in Hamamarkası, the Poets and Writers House serves as an example of the district's illuminated face in art and literature. Located in Hamamarkası, where Altındağ Municipality carried out restoration work, the museum consists of works by 30 poets and writers who have left their mark on Turkish literary history.

The museum, decorated in a historical Ankara house, will make a great contribution to Ankara's cultural and artistic life. At the entrance of the museum, Hacı Bayram-ı Veli's words, "Suddenly I arrived at that city / I saw that city being built / I too was built / Amidst stone and earth," are inscribed. The museum, which has 3 exhibition rooms and 1 lecture room, features 30 important poets and writers of Turkish Literature. It is possible to find the works, biographies, photographs, and personal belongings of the poets and writers mentioned in the museum. Literary magazines published from the Republican era to the present day are among the other important elements in the museum...

Visitors can learn about numerous writers and poets in this museum, from Necip Fazıl Kısakürek to Nazım Hikmet, from Mehmet Akif Ersoy to Attila İlhan, from Cemal Süreya to Nuri Pakdil.
