Suluhan

Suluhan is a historical caravanserai located in Ulus. It was built between 1508 and 1511 by Hasan Pasha, one of the emirs of the reign of Bayezid II. It is situated between Tekneciler Street and Suluhan Street in the Hacı Doğan neighborhood. It is a two-story, two-courtyard, stone or brick city caravanserai. During the Ottoman period, Suluhan was used for coffee and yarn trade. It began to deteriorate after the fish market fire in 1929. By the 1940s, only the outer walls of the caravanserai remained standing. Although there were plans to demolish it in 1969 and build a commercial building in its place, this plan was later abandoned. In 1984, it underwent restoration, being repaired in accordance with its original form using rubble and cut stone masonry.
