Pirinçhan

Located on Pirinç Street in the Koyunpazarı district, beneath the walls of Ankara Castle, this is one of Ankara's first wooden inns. Built in the 18th century as a three-story structure, it served as a base for small caravans, protecting them from robbers and providing accommodation. During the War of Independence, it was converted into a forward outpost in 1921 and served as a detachment command until 1942. Pirinçhan was restored in 1985 by Ahmet Ferhan Cebeci. This historic inn houses numerous booksellers and antique dealers, offering a wide variety of items from old newspapers and magazines to gramophones and souvenirs. In addition, Pirinçhan features art galleries and artistic activities. You can also enjoy some of Ankara's finest salep (a traditional Turkish hot drink) at the cafes on the ground floor.
