The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, located in the Altındağ district of Ankara, showcases remnants of Anatolian history from ancient times to the present day and boasts a rich past. It is situated within two important Ottoman historical buildings: the Mahmutpaşa Bedesten and the Kurşunlu Han. Having successfully established itself among the world's leading museums, its unique collections include artifacts from the Paleolithic Age, the Stone Age, the Neolithic Age, the Chalcolithic Age, the Early Bronze Age, and periods inhabited by civilizations such as the Hittites, Urartians, and Phrygians. Its continued importance and significance were further solidified in 1997 when it received the European Museum of the Year Award, presented by the Council of Europe in Lausanne, Switzerland.
