Devlet Resim ve Heykel Müzesi

The State Museum of Painting and Sculpture is located on Namazgah Hill in the Ulus district of Altındağ. Opened on April 6, 1980, the museum is housed in a historic building constructed in 1927 as the headquarters of the Turkish National Association and considered one of the finest examples of the First National Architectural Movement. The museum boasts a rich collection reflecting the developmental periods of Turkish visual arts before and after the Republic. It displays original works by numerous artists, from Osman Hamdi Bey to Abdülmecit Efendi, from Şeker Ahmet Paşa to Fikret Mualla, and from İbrahim Çallı to Abidin Dino. Serving as Ankara's first cultural and arts hall, the museum also features a stage suitable for operetta performances.
